Suarez was back at the Stadium of Light after a 10-match domestic ban for biting Chelsea's Branislav Ivanovic.
Talking about the Uruguayan's return, Rodgers said: 'He has come back very well. The idea is that we can have a squad when someone is missing, someone else will come in. Hopefully it will prove seamless.'

'I've been so impressed since I've been here, Jordan has become better and better,' Rodgers said.
'His level, tactically, is very good. He's one that wants to improve all the time.
