Here is the Sportsmail lowdown on the country’s team hitting the high spots.
1 Orient haven’t spent a transfer fee on a player for three and a half years. They did, however, lay out £37,155 on agents fees last season, according to official figures released by the Football League - the 13th highest in the division. Bournemouth, who were promoted, spent £688,666.
On a high: Russell Slade and his team applaud the fans after they maintained their 100 per cent start to the season at Brentford
2 Manager Russell Slade has been in charge for three years. He has never been promoted as a manager, but saved Scarborough and Grimsby from relegation and was manager of the year in 2008 when he took Yeovil into League One Play-off final. Slade, 52, was once Howard Kendall’s No 2 at Notts County. He currently has the highest win ratio of his career (42 per cent) at Orient. Slade can dream of winning more games as Orient boss, as he sleeps in one of the club apartments in a corner of the club’s Matchroom Stadium.
Leading the way: Russell Slade is the man who has masterminded Leyton Orient's brilliant start to the season
3 Their start to the season is the best in any division since Jose Mourinho’s Chelsea team won nine back-to-back games in 2006. Orient are after matching that run against Walsall at home on Saturday. The league record belongs to Reading, who won the first 13 games of the season in Division Three in the 1986/86 season. Fulham (2001), Newcastle (1993) and Spurs (1961) all won eleven on the bounce at the start of the season.
Blue days: Chelsea won the first nine games of the season in 2006 - that year they went onto win the title
4 Orient’s previous best was four wins in a row in 1910-11, when they were known as Clapton Orient. They defeated Stockport County, Derby County, Barnsley and Leicester Fosse, before losing 1-0 to Wolves. They finished fourth in the table that season, eight points behind champions West Bromwich.

Cool finish: Shaun Batt came off the bench against Brentford to score Leyton Orient's second goal
5 Orient haven’t been in the second tier of English football, now known as the Championship, since 1982 – a run of 31 consecutive years in the lower leagues.
Plenty to cheer about: The Orient cheerleaders the Cheery O's have had plenty to dance about this season
6 Chairman Barry Hearn is in New York on business, but tweeted this response to their 2-0 win at Brentford on Monday night: ‘Fantastic team. Fantastic performance. Love paying win bonuses ! Greetings from New York to all my Orient heroes!’ Hearn plans to be back for Saturday’s game. He has been known to take members of staff out to a ‘greasy spoon’ cafĂ© for breakfast in Leyton High Road to make sure they are ‘on their toes’.

7 Among the staff is Head of Sports Science Lee Southernwood, who bought some of his equipment on eBay that had to be picked up from a travellers’ camp. Matt Hunter is the performance analyst. Key players in the team include centre back Nathan Clarke, 30, who played more than 300 league games for Huddersfield before joining the club on a free transfer last year, French midfielder Romain Vincelot and exciting winger Moses Odubajo, 20. The goals are down to David Mooney, 28, and veteran poacher Kevin Lisbie, 34. Lisbie is playing for his tenth club.
